This old saying is still making the rounds - and rightly so. The 10th of November was National Apple Day. I took this as an opportunity to let this ubiquitous fruit inspire me to create Swedish Kanelbullar with apple juice and a delicious apple centre.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Durch Granny\u2019s und Arche Noah wurde ich eigentlich erst auf den Tag des Apfels aufmerksam. Die Organisationen haben sich unl\u00e4ngst zusammengetan, um f\u00fcr Nachhaltigkeit im Umgang mit unserer Natur zu arbeiten. Das Projekt von Granny\u2019s und Arche Noah, dem Verein zur Erhaltung der Arten- und Pflanzenvielfalt, nennt sich \u201eZum Wohl \u2013 der Natur!\u201c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grannys.at\/\">Granny\u2019s<\/a> will damit sein Engagement f\u00fcr Natur und Nat\u00fcrlichkeit vorstellen.<\/p>\n<p>Das langfristige und gemeinsame Ziel von Granny\u2019s und der Arche Noah ist es, einen wichtigen Beitrag zum Fortbestand der Kulturpflanzenvielfalt zu leisten. Die Vielfalt soll wieder n\u00e4her zu den Menschen kommen und das Bewusstsein daf\u00fcr geweckt werden. Arche Noah steht f\u00fcr Ehrlichkeit und Authentizit\u00e4t \u2013 ebenso Granny\u2019s, die f\u00fcr ihren Apfelsaft zwei Naturzutaten, n\u00e4mlich ausschlie\u00dflich reines Wasser und \u00c4pfel aus \u00d6sterreich verwenden. Zudem will die Marke 2018 Bio-Produkte einf\u00fchren, und es wird an Verpackungsm\u00f6glichkeiten aus Glas gearbeitet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wof\u00fcr steht Arche Noah?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Arche Noah ist ein Verein, der sich f\u00fcr den Erhalt der Pflanzen und Kulturvielfalt einsetzt. Dabei versucht A.N. gef\u00e4hrdete Gem\u00fcse-, Obst und Getreidesorten zu bewahren und zu pflegen.<\/p>\n<p>Es ist auch die Vielfalt, die den Einsatz von Pestiziden zu reduzieren hilft: Wenn die Landwirtschaft nachhaltig und vielseitig ist, sind die Pflanzensorten auch robuster. So k\u00f6nnen sie Sch\u00e4dlinge besser abwehren \u2013 bis dahin, dass Pestizide deutlich verringert oder auch ganz vermieden werden k\u00f6nnen. Derzeit gibt es zehn gro\u00dfe Agrochemie-Konzerne, die den weltweiten Saatgutmarkt dominieren und die Landwirte weltweit massiv von sich abh\u00e4ngig machen. Deshalb ist es so wichtig, dass es Staaten gibt, die kleine und regionale Pflanzensorten und den Samenaustausch zulassen \u2013 nur so kann die Unabh\u00e4ngigkeit gef\u00f6rdert werden.<\/p>\n<p>Die Vielfalt kann fast als Immunsystem der Natur gesehen werden -\u00a0 denn je artenreicher die Natur, desto mehr wird deren Abwehrkraft gegen\u00fcber Umwelteinfl\u00fcssen und Fressfeinden gest\u00e4rkt. Zudem unterst\u00fctzt Vielfalt die Anpassung an extreme Wetterbedingungen.
